BUILD A NEW CAREER PATH
Students attending our Building Technology program learn the skills used in building construction. Our students learn brick and block work, some concrete work, all the framing and carpentry work, exterior finishing like vinyl siding, interior drywall finishing, and traditional shingle roofing.
Our students also learn about proper building codes, material costing to provide a good estimate, as well as a little bit of business and finance. Our students also learn other building basics such as rise and run of stairs, framing in basic electrical and plumbing, reading construction blueprints, and installing doors and windows.
Upon graduation, students are obtaining positions in the following occupations: carpenters assistants, vinyl siding applicators, painters, masonry helpers, construction workers, building maintenance and roofing assistants.
