Program Overview
The curriculum is designed to provide classroom and “hands-on” training in the residential construction and remodeling field. Graduates of the program will develop skills in estimating, print reading, drywall, exterior finishes, framing, masonry, plumbing, finish carpentry, door and window installation, math and computers.
Graduates of the program will be qualified, but not limited to, entry level positions as construction workers, rough carpenters, finish carpenters, helpers, drywall applicators, roofers, and siding installers.
BUILD A NEW CAREER PATH
Graduates of the Building Construction Technology Program will receive training in the residential construction and remodeling fields. Students of the program will be exposed to and have the opportunity to develop skills in estimating, print reading, drywall/interior finishing, exterior finishes, framing, masonry, plumbing, finish carpentry, door/window installation, and construction mathematics. Students will receive instruction through lecture and hands-on lab. Students will build structures in the Building Construction Lab, that will require them to apply the concepts of each area of the curriculum.
Career Opportunities
Students who graduate from the Building Construction Technology Program will be qualified to enter the construction field as a construction worker, rough carpenter, finish carpenter drywaller, roofer, or exterior finisher.
